The items listed here are made by brands that are ethical. This means that the pricing is different from your average fast fashion brand. Personally, the only way I have managed to be able to afford to make the switch to slow fashion is by buying less. What this means is that I only buy one dress for the season and one or two tops. A big part of intentional shopping is understanding the difference between need and want. It also means learning to save up for clothes. Again, if you think of the items in your closet as investments it is easier to fork over the money. However, at the end of the day, the best thing to do is to be content and not purchase anything unless it is on your list. I read a post by Andrea from The Purposeful Closet on summer essentials from the items that she already owns. Contrary to most fashion marketing teams you do not need something new for every event or season. However, just in case your summer wardrobe needs a little touch up I have a list here of some essential/basic things like tees and shorts. I have also made sure to include stuff that transitions well beyond summer!
FashionABLE – Patricia Cropped Tee
This shirt is from My Sister – they make a variety of casual tees and tanks with great messages! It can be worn with boyfriend jeans or tucked into a flared skirt.
Amour Vert – Annie Slub Tie Fron Tee
The dresses are both from ECO VIbe Apparel – they make the perfect summer dress, however, they can both transition well to fall with some black tights or over the knee boots!!
Trove – Blair Skirt is from their Rwanda’s line
Thought clothing – Oceanid Printed Hemp Skirt
Ecovibe Apparel – Mae cotten linen shorts
