I have been a fan of Amour Vert for about two years now. I have looked at their beautifully designed clothing and wished for something I would love. Something that I would be able to wear often and therefore worth the investment. This is what happens when you choose a slower lifestyle. You think about clothes as investment pieces rather than just things to score on a sale. OR something to help you overcome that negative feeling. You know that clothing high you get when you buy something new. I’ve felt it! It is incredible but darn it fades way too FAST. This is different though. I have reached for this gorgeous Muse dress about 4 times in the week I got it. I even braved the cold #YYC weather to wear this dress.
Is it beautiful or what? I have gotten so many compliments on it and am ridiculously in love with this dress. I love the color. I love the material. The only thing I did not love about this dress was the neckline. I did not appreciate how low it was. Therefore, I did something about it. When something is an investment you mend it. You fix its imperfection. For me, that just meant a little hook which a local talented seamstress did for me. AND as you can see no plunging necklines anymore. 😉
So, what’s Amour Vert? Firstly, it means Green Love in French. The company made a choice to change the fashion industry when they found out how problematic it was. Without sacrificing beauty and aesthetics they create products that are good for the planet. The materials used are eco-friendly with materials like modal and tencel. As well as organic cotton which uses less toxic materials. They are good for people too! The silk dress in this picture is authentic Indian silk. They use it because of its:
“unparalleled quality and its impressive 5000-year history.”
They carry products like shirts, dresses, pants, and accessories. They ALSO plant a tree in North America for every t-shirt purchased. To do this they have partnered with American Forest. So far they have planted over 150,000 trees. If you get the chance I definitely encourage you to support the brands and businesses that are doing good work. It is POSSIBLE to run a business and do good things!!! Let us support the companies that don’t believe ethics are optional Or equate it with legality. I love it when companies and people strive to do the best they can!
